Maria
Montessori
The idea for Lotawana Montessori school was developed by a local Lake Lotawana resident
hopeful of offering Lake Lotawana families with a quality Early Childhood Program close to
home.

Amy Hampton moved to Lake Lotawana in October of 2008.  She has three children, all
boys ages 4, 6, and 10.  Amy received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education at
Graceland University with endorsements in Early Childhood and Reading.  She also holds
Montessori Certification for children ages 3-6 from Kansas City Montessori Teacher Training
Institute, holds a  State of Missouri Director Certification, and is Infant/Child CPR and First Aid
certified.  Amy has been teaching Montessori for 8 years: 5 years of Early Childhood, and 3
years with children in grades Kindergarten through 5th.  While Amy has experience managing
and directing large early childhood programs, her passion is to work with children.  Lotawana
Montessori provides the perfect opportunity for Amy to provide to the Lake Lotawana
community the best of what the Montessori philosophy and education has to offer, while also
doing what she enjoys most--working with children and helping them develop and grow to their
fullest potential.

Danielle Martin lives in Blue Springs, MO, and has 2 children, both boys, ages 4 and 9.
Danielle and Amy became aquainted at a park in Blue Springs 3 years ago. After talking for
awhile, Danielle and Amy realized they shared many common philosophies when it came to
parenting and education.  Amy invited Danielle to tour the Montessori school she was
managing, and a short while later,  invited Danielle to join her staff team.  Danielle received her
Montessori Foundations training and Montessori Foundations certification through Kansas City
Teacher Training Institute and is also Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certified.  Over the past 3
years she has taught in both Primary and Elementary classrooms, assisted in the development
of summer programs, developed summer and fall curriculum, and eventually became a
member of management.  Like Amy, Danielle's passion is in working with children and her
biggest joy comes in watching the amazing progress and growth that takes place for children in
a Montessori environment.

Amy and Danielle are both very excited to have this opportunity to offer the children and families
at Lake Lotawana the experience of a true Montessori program!
